Ms. Brooke Davis isn’t just a science teacher, she’s also an entrepreneur.

“I make natural bath and body products,” said Davis, whose business is called Barefoot in the Garden.

Davis creates natural bath and body products. The products are created from a combination of ingredients, that include various natural butters, oils, and chemicals. When these ingredients are combined, they create a chemical reaction that produces soap along with glycerine and other bath and body products.

“I’ve been doing it for about a year now,” said Davis. “I was self taught.”

Over the past year, Davis’s hobby has grown into a small business. The name of the business was inspired by Davis’s son walking barefoot in the garden. When Davis was washing his feet, she realized the chemicals in the soap she was using were harmful. This realization made Davis want to create a product that would be less harmful and more healthy for her friends and family.

“I love it,” said Davis. “It’s relaxing and therapeutic. I like making healthy things for my family.”

Davis’s products can be found for sale on her website: http://www.barefootinthegarden.net.
