Over the summer, a new Fazoli’s opened on Miller Lane. Senior Amanda Rose was present at the Grand Opening, having dinner with her family. While she was there, she entered her name into a sweepstakes to win a two-year lease on a brand new Volkswagen Beetle from Fazoli’s and White Allen, as well as one family meal for four people once a month at Fazoli’s for a year.

Then, she learned she was a finalist to win the car! Rose had her temps all summer, but once she learned she was a finalist in the competition, she immediately went to get her license…just in case she won.

The company had advertised they would pull keys out of a jar and whoever had the key that started the car would win it, but they changed the procedure slightly.

“When I got there they just pulled NAMES out of a jar,” said Rose, and she couldn’t have been happier with the result.

Rose was the winner of the car, however because she is not 21, the lease was put into her mother’s name. Sadly, that means Rose is also unable to drive the car.

Rose describes the car as a 2014 Volkswagen Beetle with a bright red dash and black leather seats. The outside is decorated with Fazoli’s logos, as well as pasta and breadsticks. One side screams “Powered by Pasta” while the other side is a seemingly-infinite row of breadsticks.  Her family also loves that the car gets great gas mileage.

Rose has hopes of eventually purchasing the car at the end of the two-year lease.  And removing the stickers.
