Nerves turned to excitement on Friday, August 24 for the Northmont Varsity football team. They showed up and showed out in their first game of the season versus Lima Senior as they won 56-13.

”It was an amazing feeling to win by so much,” said senior (center) Nolan Roach. “I can’t wait to go back out there next Friday and put on a show for the home crowd.”

With all the coaches, parents, players, and students satisfied with the outcome of Northmont’s first game, they’ll be excited to see Northmont host Fairmont on Friday, August 31.

”I can’t wait to see how Northmont plays this Friday,” said sophomore Kyle Sendlebach. “Unfortunately I didn’t see the last game because it was so far away. So it’ll be exciting to take a first look at how the team does.”

With the season just starting,  Northmont looks to redeem themselves after last season. With last year being one of Northmont’s best seasons in the last 10 years, they look to set out this season and win it all.

“I’m excited to see what comes this season. I have high faith in this team, and I feel like the crowd is gonna be shocked this year.” Said senior (left guard) Ivan Whistler.

With Northmont trying to obtain their undefeated record, the team is excited to show the world what they can do.
