On Sunday, February 23, a robbery occurred in the 4200 block of North Main Street of Dayton, around 3 pm. The suspect was a white male wearing a hoodie tied around his face with a black handgun, he was demanding money. The man took off on foot as the Montgomery county office brought out their K-9s to track down the suspect, but it ended quickly according to Dayton Daily News.

Nothing was stolen during the robbery and authorities have not yet found the suspect, but the case is still ongoing.Many robberies have occurred in Dayton over the years.

Over 9 crimes have been committed in Dayton in just under 24 hours. Dayton crime Statistics claims, “Dayton crime statistics report an overall downward trend in crime based on data from 18 years with violent crime decreasing and property crime decreasing. Based on this trend, the crime rate in Dayton for 2020 is expected to be lower than in 2016.”  This claims that crime rate is lower in 2020, however, 202o is just beginning.
