On Friday March 13, two 13 year old boys, by the names of Manny Flores and Isaiah Moronta went missing after being seen jumping into the Hudson River in Upper Manhattan. 

According to Pix11, “They had gone to McDonald’s after school at P.S. 278 and made their way to a place they called “The Beach,” a spot where Spuyten Duyvil Creek meets the Hudson River.”

It was said to have been a warm day for March and so they wanted to go for a swim. 

 According to NY Times,”A police official said the boys went missing after jumping from Spuyten Duyvil Bridge, which goes between Inwood in Manhattan and the Bronx. The swing bridge is used by Amtrak trains.”

Moronta jumped in first and came out and went back onto the bridge. Then Flores jumped in and was struggling to get out so Moronta jumped back in to try to save him. 

According to The Daily Beast, “Police divers have searched the waters with no sign of the boys, but their families have not given up hope.”

The boys currently still haven’t been found but they are still looking. Many dive teams are still searching the river but they don’t know how long it will take to find them due to the size of the river. Currently, the family still has hope that they are out there and have no plan of losing hope anytime soon.
