Anything Goes With Florida Georgia Line

Florida Georgia Line 2015 Tour

Mary McKinney, Life and Opinion Editor

Florida Georgia Line turned up the heat in January by bringing their “Anything Goes” tour to Wright State’s Erving J. Nutter Center in Dayton, for the second night of their tour. Frankie Ballard was the opening artist and the show also featured Thomas Rhett.

At the show, Thomas Rhett covered “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson featuring Bruno Mars. Rhett also sang “T-Shirt”, a song that will be released on his new album coming out later this year. FGL covered verses from several songs including “We Dem Boyz” by Wiz Khalifa.

FGL  modeled their sound on bands such as Nickelback, Shinedown, and Three Days Grace. The band kept the country influence in style in a lot of their songs but also changed it up and raised commotion with songs like “Sun Daze.” A lot of country fans are not pleased by their music because their songs sound too similar and because it is too modern and not enough like the country music fans are used to.

Author’s Note: After meeting with Nancy Wilson for an interview for a college paper, she gave me two tickets to the Florida Georgia Line concert and two meet-and-greet passes with Thomas Rhett.
