Thanksgiving is coming up and that means food! The best part of Thanksgiving isn’t always the turkey and the stuffing, sometimes it’s the dessert. A delicious Turkey Day treat are Thanksgiving Krispie Treats.

First, you’ll need 1/4 cup of butter, 4 cups of miniature marshmallows and 5 cups of Rice Krispies or puffed rice cereal. Melt the butter in a large saucepan over low heat. Add the marshmallows and stir until melted and well-blended. Cook for 2 minutes and stir constantly. Remove from heat. Add the cereal and stir until it is covered in the mixture. Using a buttered spatula or waxed paper, press the mixture evenly and firmly in a buttered 13-x-9-inch pan. Don’t eat them yet, because you still have to make them look like turkeys.

To make them look like turkeys you will need miniature Reese Cups, candy corn, orange Reese’s Pieces, red icing, and candy eyes.

Cut the treats in the pan into squares. Using a circle cookie cutter, cut circles out of the squares. Then, decorate! Place a Reese Cup towards the end of the treat. Next, dip the candy corn in the red icing and place them around the Reese Cup, but only the top of the Reese Cup. Take one of the Reese’s Pieces and put a little bit of icing on its side, placing it in the middle of the Reese Cup. After that, take the candy eyes, put icing on the bottom of them, and place them above the the nose. Finally, take the icing and make a gobbler, so it looks like a turkey.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving Krispie Treat and have a great Thanksgiving!
