On May 22, the newly-formed A Capella group had a concert in the auditorium.

“My favorite part of the concert was just being able to perform, and see the smiles on people’s faces as they watched us,” said sophomore Allen Van Luvender.

The group sang four songs with two individual segments for its beatboxers.

The first song the group sang was “Clarity,” originally by Zedd and Foxes. Senior Gab Schuh sang the melody while the rest of the group sang background vocals.  Sophomore Rylee Fitzgerald also led the group in singing Miley Cyrus’s “Wrecking Ball.” In the song “Demons,” originally by Imagine Dragons, junior Eric Thompson sang the melody while the rest of the group sang harmonies and background vocals. The final song they performed was “Brave,” originally by Sara Bareilles. While the group was singing background vocals and harmonies, the melody was  sung by junior Sydney Thomas.

The group practiced for seven weeks prior to this concert.

“It was an amazing experience and I can’t wait to continue it,” said freshman Maggie Salada.

The concert ended with the a capella group receiving a standing ovation as the crowd cheered them on.
