Nike is a well-known brand that thousands of people around the world buys from; they sell clothes, shoes, and accessories. However, most people don’t know that Nike and many other similar companies use slave labor, forced overtime, and abuse to make their products profitable. There have been many allegations over years, but in recent years the company is shining a light on the problem.
Modern day slavery is the same as slavery from two hundred years ago. It’s not okay and needs to be stopped. Few people are paying attention which is making this situation worse.
Child labor is a form of slavery that forces a child to work long hours, deprived of food, and unable to see their parents. According to dictionary.com, child labor refers to the employment of children in any work that deprives children of their childhood, interferes with their ability to attend regular school, and that is mental, physically, socially or morally dangerous and harmful.

I enjoyed reading this article. I certainly can appreciate the fact more and more youth arr paying more attention to social issues currently happening in our society. Good, bad or indifferent, our youth are out future and I’m glad to see that a stance is being taken in terms of social injustices and egregious practices being enacted against those who are less fortunate!
Well written article!
