Noises Off at Northmont!
October 6, 2019
Northmont Drama Club’s fall show, Noises Off! is a farce comedy about a traveling theatre group. As fatigue, jealousy, and other personal dilemmas set in, it begins to affect the performance of their show, Nothing On. While almost ruining the show with their whisky fueled, axe wielding antics, the group just aims to survive passed curtain call. It’s a fast-paced three act play, all performed on a two story, rotating set! Northmont Drama Club’s Production of Noises Off! will premiere on Halloween and will run until November 2. All three shows begin at 7pm.
Overall, the cast and crew is pretty fond of this show. It’s predicted to be a spectacular time in the theatre!
“Noises Off! is a pretty fun and chaotic show,” said Sophomore Echo Diffenderfer, Stage Manager. “I feel that we have a very talented cast and an amazing director. I’m confident that it’ll be a great show.”
The various comedic elements of Noises Off! makes it unique.
“I really love this show. It might be my new favorite play that I’ve performed in,” said Junior Billy Pickrell, Actor. “It’s definitely the funniest, and I love all the physical humor.”
There’s also one new Northmont Drama Club member acting in Noises Off!
“Noises Off!, I think is really funny,” said Freshman Sierra McFarland, actor. “I’ve done one show before, Backwards At the Speed of Light, the first Northmont Middle School Play. Noises Off! is a lot more complex through. It’s REALLY crazy but a lot of fun. I also love everybody involved. As my first high school play, it’ll be one to remember.”
This show is even calling upon a special guest director, Mrs. Margie Strader. After passing Northmont’s Theatre Director position to Ranger Puterbaugh in 2014 for Fantastic Mr. Fox, Margie Strader returns to her directors chair for Noises Off! Strader has been the auditorium manager for over 35 years.
