Recently, the United Kingdom’s Prime Minister Boris Johnson‘s former Press Secretary has been accused of making comedic jokes about throwing a large Christmas party even when Covid restrictions for the area were extremely high. These accusations are highly frowned upon due to the fact that last year a Christmas party was thrown when Covid cases were at an all-time high.

Former press Secretary, Allegra Stratton, made the statement to BBC  “This fictional party was a business meeting, and it was not socially distanced”.

Over the past few weeks, Boris Johnson claimed that his staff have not broken any kind of lockdown rules despite claims that staff members have been joking on video about throwing a large party, as they did in 2020, breaking Covid guidelines.

Many have criticized the prime minister over this hypocrisy and illegal parties (to his own standards) due to the fact he was in favor of shutting down half of the country once more with cases of Covid flying in the U.K  and an expected increase again this holiday season.

The civilians of the United Kingdom have expressed dislike for the actions of their Prime Minister many times, for making controversial claims and bills that he wanted to pass. Boris has a long history of upsetting the people of Europe as a whole and has expressed his opinions in ways that most in his country do not agree with.

However, as these claims of irresponsible actions against Boris and his staff continue, Covid cases continue to rise and are unlikely to drop for a bit in Europe as the holiday season continues.
