On January 12, 2022, Megan Fox and Machine Gun Kelly (Colson Baker) posted to Instagram announcing their engagement. Soon after, the public started making jokes about the post, most importantly, the caption. At the end of Fox’s engagement post, she wrote “…and then we drank each other’s blood”

“In July of 2020 we sat under this banyan tree

We were oblivious to the pain we would face together in such a short, frenetic period of time. 

Unaware of the work and sacrifices the relationship would require from us but intoxicated off of the love. And the karma.

Another thing people weren’t too happy about was the engagement ring. “if you’ve not seen the ring consists of two jewels, corresponding with his and Megan’s respective birthstones, placed on two separate “bands of thorns” which are connected by magnets.” said BuzzFeed. The ring itself was talked about much more than the caption of the post. Fox’s engagement ring is two stones, ( Barker and Fox’s birthstones) but from the pictures, you can’t see the “thorns”. 

People went crazy on Instagram and Twitter, regarding her ring. They are coming for the “toxic” behavior that this is playing into for young girls. The “thorns” of the ring are faced to where if Fox tries to take it off, it will hurt. Barker says “love is pain” regarding the ring.
