The annual Grammy Awards Ceremony was held on April 3, 2022, in Las Vegas. Tons of new and older artists won Grammies. This is a breakdown of all the winners and what awards they won. All of the winners and nominees can be found on the official Grammys website as well as on CNN.
Silk Sonic won Record of the Year for their record, “Leave the Door Open”. The song by the same name also won Song of the Year. The album, “We Are”, made by Jon Batiste, won Album of the Year. Olivia Rodrigo won Best New Artist and her song “Drivers License” won Best Pop Solo Performance. The song, “Kiss Me More”, featuring Doja Cat and SZA won Best Pop Duo or Group Performance. Tony Bennet and Lady Gaga won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for their song, “Love for Sale”. Olivia Rodrigo’s “Sour” album won Best Pop Vocal Album.
“Alive” by Rufus Du Sol won Best Dance Recording. Tyler the Creator won Best Rap Album for his album “Call Me If You Get Lost”. Kendrick Lamar and Baby Keem won Best Rap Performance for their song “Family Ties”. Kanye West and Jay-Z won Best Rap Song for their number “Jail”. Alex Cuba won Best Latin Pop Album for his song, “Mendo”. Best Musica Urbana Album went to Bad Bunny for “El Último Tour Del Mundo”. Best American Roots Performance went to Jon Batiste for his song “Cry”. For Best R&B Performance, Silk Sonic and Jazmine Sullivan tied for “Leave the Door Open” and “Pick Up Your Feelings” respectively.
However, Silk Sonic won Best R&B Song for “Leave The Door Open”. Jazmine Sullivan won Best R&B Album “Heaux Tales”. Chris Stapleton won Best Country Solo Performance for his song “You Should Probably Leave”. Brothers Osborne won Best Country Duo or Group Performance for “Younger Me”. Best Country Song for his song “Cold”. Chris Stapleton also won Best Country Album for “Starting Over”. Foo Fighters won Best Rock Performance for their song, “Making a Fire”.They also won Best Rock Song for “Waiting on a War”. And finally, the Foo Fighters won Best Rock Album for “Medicine at Midnight”.
