On September 10th of this year at the D23 Expo the trailer for the Percy Jackson and and the Olympians tv show premiered. This was after Rick Riordan announced in 2021, he would make a live action series of his books Percy Jackson and the Olympians.
Leah Jeffries (Annabeth Chase), Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson) and Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood) were at the D23 Expo. This was an exciting time for fans because it is widely agreed that the Percy Jackson movies from 2010’s were very disliked. In a cheat sheet.com article by, Kelli Boyle, she quotes Rick Riordan as he says, “Well to you guys, it’s a couple hours’ entertainment. To me it’s my life’s work going through a meat grinder.” (April 2021)
However, with Rick Riordan helping to produce the PJO series, it will be greatly different from the 2010 movies. He has given updates about things on set, cast and other news. In an entry on his website rickriodan.com, Welcome to Camp Half-Blood he says, “We have many more miles to travel and more monsters to vanquish before we complete this quest, but everything is going great, and we couldn’t ask for a better trio of heroes to save the world!” (September 10th 2022)
With the trailer releasing expectations are set. Anticipation for the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series to be released on Disney Plus in 2024, are high.
