24 injured, 15 killed including 4 adults and 11 children in a school shooting in Russia’s city Izhevsk on Monday September 26 2022. it was said to be a terrorist attack. According to The New York Times, “A gunman entered School Number 88, which teaches the first to 11th grades, and killed four adults and 11 children before killing himself.”
According to the authorities, the attacker was armed with two pistols, wearing a black top with Nazu symbols and a balaclava. It was said the attacker was not carrying any sort of ID. He was identified as Artem Kazantsev. A 34-year-old male who had previously attended the school. Aleksnadr Brechalvor, the governor of the Udmurt Republic stated that Artem had been registered with the local psychiatric clinic.
CNN stated, “Kremlin spokesman. Dmitry Peskov said the attacker was “a person who, apparently, belongs to a neo-fascist organization or group.” The shooting took place at School 88. This being at least the third school shooting in Russia in the past two years. According to CNN, “In May 2021, a gunman killed seven children at a school in Kazan, the capital of Russia’s Tatarstan Republic. Five months later, 20 people were killed when an assailant set off a bomb and started shooting at a college in Russian-occupied Crimea”
President dent Vladimir V. Putin of Russia sent his condolences through spokesman Dmitri S. Peskov, Via The New York Times, “President Putin deeply mourns the deaths of people, children at a school where there was a terrorist attack by a person, who apparently belongs to a neo-fascist group,”“The president wishes for the recovery of those injured as a result of this inhuman terrorist attack.”
