Local Pike County Man Put on Trial For the Murder of His ex Partner
Noel Coles is Standing Before a Judge For the Death of His Ex Partner Jacqueline Coles
December 18, 2022
As of Monday, December 12, 2022 the trial of Noel Coles began. He is currently being held in Clark County and is facing charges of aggravated murder, felonious assault, and aggravated burglary.
Coles is facing accusations regarding the 2021 murder of his ex partner Jacqueline Coles, 43. In regards to the weeks and days leading up to the uncovering of her deceased body, Jacqueline went to the Clerk of Courts in Clark County, on August 5, 2021. When there, she filed a protection order against Noel, protecting herself and her three children, who all had been living in fear of him and his “outbursts of anger”.
According to WHIO, in the court filing Jacqueline stated “he threatened to kill me” multiple times and that she was “in fear for my life”. This protection order was the result of a previous dispute between both Jacqueline and Noel days prior. Noel had threatened her life when he became aware of a relationship between Jacqueline and her co-worker.
Even though, Jacqueline claimed the two of them were no longer in a relationship, and that she and her co-worker had “all the right in the world to explore a relationship with each other”.
On the morning of August, 24, 2021 the body of Jacqueline Coles was found in the home she and Noel previously shared at 141 Weinland Street.
Hours after her kids had been sent off to school, her body had been discovered in her kitchen, she had been shot multiple times and there were signs of a break in.
When police arrived Noel’s vehicle was found out front/around the area of the home, which the protection order strictly prohibited him from being within a vicinity that close to the property. Police immediately questioned Noel and he told them he was only there to watch his children get on the bus that morning. Ultimately, he was let go from questioning, just to flee to Indiana.
Once police caught wind of him fleeing the area they promptly had him arrested and brought him back to the local town in Ohio.
After inevitably being questioned on his choice of leaving the state, Noel stated he was not running from the police, but rather he was helping a friend who breeds dogs transfer a husky to California.
This case has enraged courts and jury members, with court official, Erica Luderman, stating “Not only did the defendant murder Jacqueline, but then he left her home and left her body there with the possibility for her children to find her.” Says Dayton Daily News.
It is being said this trial will take up the majority of this week, however officials are confident the ending result will in fact find Noel guilty. The only issue Jacqueline’s defense team is facing is that there was no weapon found, and that there were no witnesses present.
However, her team is still very confident in this case. Bringing Jacqueline, her children, family, and friends all the justice and peace they deserve.
