WARNING! MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR ATTACK ON TITAN AHEAD! YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

The dearly beloved anime Attack on Titan has officially gotten a release date for the final season’s third part! Imagine yourself, born behind three giant walls that are protecting you from giant man-eating humanoid creatures. The first part of the third part of the final season of Attack on Titan will be released on March 4th, 2023 and the second part later this year, and both will cover what is written in this article! While being safe, you are also trapped within the sky scraping walls. This was how it was for Eren Yeager, a child born within the walls. He yearned for a chance to go beyond the walls, to see the ocean, and to be free. After two abnormal titans called the Colossal and Armored titans break the wall and Eren is behind, as large rocks from the wall go flying and titans rush into the town Shiganshina, eating everyone in their sight. Eren watches as a titan pulls his mother out of the rubble of Eren’s house and eats her. This marks the day Eren vowed to kill every last titan. From here, Eren goes behind one of the other two walls, joins the Survey Corps (a team put together to kill titans), and starts a new life with his two friends Armin Arlert and Mikasa Ackerman in the Survey Corps. 

Five years after relocating, Eren is on patrol on top of the second wall when suddenly the Colossal titan appears breaking another hole in the wall, letting titans into the town of Trost. Eren and the other Survey Corps members try their best to hold off the titans to let civilians evacuate, but when Armin gets grabbed and put into the mouth of a titan, Eren risks his life to save his childhood friend. Eren throws Armin out of the titan’s mouth only to get eaten himself. Armin alerts the other Corps members that Eren is dead, which enrages Mikasa. She is on a spree of killing titans when her gear (The Corps members use gear called ODM gear which allows them to glide through the air using grappling hooks and compressed air canisters) runs out of compressed air and she falls to the ground. She is cornered in an alley with nothing but one of the swords the Corps uses to kill titans by a titan. All hope seems lost when a titan comes out of nowhere and kills the other titan.

We find out that the titan protecting Mikasa is actually Eren and that he can change between a human and a titan. The story progresses a lot from here and as of the beginning of the fourth season, Eren has decided he wants to be free from everything. He uses his power combined with the beast titan’s power and becomes the founding titan. He starts The Rumbling and starts a worldwide genocide. The 3rd part of Attack on Titan: The Final Season will cover Eren’s effect on the world and the ending of Attack on Titan. With The Rumbling going, Eren must be stopped before he kills the entire world. Eren will have Ymir create several of the 9 titans (Cart, Jaw, Female, Armored, Warhammer, Colossal, Beast, Attack, and Founding) to try to stop the scouts from getting to him.

Zeke emerges from the founding titans spine and waves to Levi, asking for death. Levi sees that, and Zeke’s head was forcibly removed, thus ending the rumbling. Jean then detonates a bomb on the founding titans neck left by Pieck Finger, which removes Eren’s head from the founding titan. From the spine of the founding titan, a centipede called the Source of all life emerges, attempting to reconnect to Eren’s head. The scouts realize that if the centipede touches Eren’s head, it will reform and end humanity. They have to kill either Eren or the centipede. 

Armin jumps from Falco’s Jaw titan, and turns into his Colossal titan. Eren approaches Armin also in Colossal form. Reiner, Falco, Pieck, and Annie are struggling to keep the centipede away from Eren when the big battle between Eren’s Colossal titan and Armin’s Colossal titan begins. Levi realizes Eren is inside his titan’s mouth and directs Mikasa to kill the second she can. After Armin attacks Eren, Eren lands a punch in the opposing titan’s skull. Just in that moment, Levi throws a thunder spear into Eren’s teeth, giving Mikasa the time to enter Eren’s mouth and sever his head. The battle ends with Mikasa kissing Eren’s decapitated head. The final chapter shows Mikasa and the scouts living happily. Mikasa has a child and she’s sitting under a tree when the wind blows her scarf off. A bird called a Jaeger brings it back to her, and she thanks Eren one final time.
