On Tuesday, February 6th, 2024, King Charles III of England was diagnosed with cancer. Thankfully, the cancer was caught in the early stages. “Thankfully, this has been caught early and now everyone will be wishing him that he gets the treatment that he needs and makes a full recovery,” said British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak in a radio interview with the BBC on Tuesday.
King Charles will not be expected to make any public appearances, and he will work from home. “We’ll crack on with everything, but he’ll be in our thoughts and our prayers,” the Prime Minister said in the same interview with the BBC. The media has had quite the reaction to the news, being just 17 months after the death of his mother and the late Queen, Elizabeth II.
Charles spent three nights at the London Clinic, which is a private hospital near Regent’s Park. During his most recent procedure, he was said to be “doing well,” according to a CNN article. He was spotted for the first time after his treatment on Sunday. He appeared to be very happy, waving to the onlookers. Charles then came back from Sandringham Monday to begin outpatient treatment. King Charles III is expected to recover soon.
