On February 24th, 2024, the U.S. Congress started another vote on supply aids for Ukrainian soldiers, yet they are still stalling on sending care packages of ammunition and food to the Ukrainian soldiers. Ukrainian soldiers are now forced to go to the front lines with not enough ammunition. According to a CNN interview with a man by the name of “Artem”, “Last summer, we used 100 shells per day. The enemy infantry did not even think about moving here. They had no plans to advance because they knew that every unit that was here would use everything they had to repel their attack.” With Ukrainian soldiers using hundreds of bullets a day, it is urgent that Congress’s vote for another aid for Ukraine be passed, or it could cost major developments for the Russians in the war.
“In the past, if I saw their firing position, a dugout, machine guns… I would hit them. Now I don’t do that,” Artem said in the same interview with CNN. “The priority is the tank, the gun – if it is firing, the multiple launch rocket systems. If I see infantry and no one gives me a command, then I don’t shoot, because we have to save the shells.” It was February 24th that President Joe Biden asked for an additional $60 billion dollars to help the security assistance in Kyiv. This request from the United States President has been the reason the voting has been put on hold. The soldiers in Ukraine are now having to face tough choices daily to reasonably use the supply rations.
