William Joseph Colligan, also known as Will Wood, an alt rock music artist who has been on hiatus from all things music for a year, has returned to his rightful spot and is going on tour! Along with the tour, he has released an edit of his album “The Normal Album” which is now called “The New Normal!”
On July 22nd, 2022, Wood released an album called In Case I Make It. The album consisted of 16 songs (there were originally meant to be 18 songs, but Wood decided against adding the titles “Misanthropologist” and “…And If I Did, You Deserved It!”) that were meant to be his musical endnote, but ended up being included on a sister album called “IN CASE I DIE,” which is an album made solely of live concert recordings for each of his songs.
In a guest blog interview with V13.net, Wood states “I’ve clarified some things in recent interviews. I’ve expanded on the story behind In Case I Make It, and lamented the popular interpretation of it being my ‘I’m better now’ album and not basically Goodbye Cruel World: The Musical. The belief that the major key and lack of screaming is proof of well-being, my wackier work was the result of mental illness and an old stage persona, and that the album is just meta-commentary on that is crushing. But I can hardly expect people to not read too much into something if I myself am hard to decipher.”
On Friday, August 16, Wood announced on all his social media outlets that he’d be returning to the stage on his Slouching Towards Bethlehem tour. He also released a special edit of The Normal Album on August 9th, which now contains different versions of previous songs and even new live versions of I/Me/Myself, Laplace’s Angel, and Memento Mori.
