On Sunday, October 5th, the New York Jets started All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Adams had what many would call a lackluster start to his Jets career only getting 3 receptions for 30 yards according to John Pullano from the New York Jets website (Oct 21st, 2024).

Adams said after the game that, “We didn’t execute,”Adams continued saying, “We didn’t capitalize on the opportunities or in the moments that we had to potentially put the ball in the end zone or finish a drive or get 3. We flat out didn’t finish. That has been the underlying thing with this team this year. I am just getting here but I hope I can do something to change that”(John Pullano, Oct 21st, 2024). According to Rich Camini from ESPN, Arron Rodgers, the star quarterback for the New York Jets and past teammate of Davante Adams, “I have to play better,” he said, having five interceptions in the past three games, “That’s the key, I have to play better. We have to find a way to run the ball better so we can play-action pass”(Oct 21st, 2024).

Rich Camini also said that, “The Jets played well for the first 20 minutes, jumping to a 15-6 lead on Rodgers’ 1-yard scoring pass to tight end Tyler Conklin. After that, the offense disappeared. Just before halftime, Rodgers threw into traffic over the middle to Wilson and it was picked off by Bishop”(Oct 21st, 2024).

Camini said that, “The Jets, who began the season with Super Bowl aspirations, travel to the New England Patriots (1-6) in a virtual must-win. Another loss and they could be toast by Halloween” (Oct 21st, 2024).

According to Michael Dominski and Lukas Weese from the Jets Wire, “The Jets are now three games behind the Bills in the division. A week ago, they were heading into a Monday Night Football matchup with Buffalo with the opportunity to take over first place”(Oct 21st, 2024).
