Just after midnight on Sunday December, 1st, South Euclid police were dispatched to Bexley Park near Fulton Road for a noise complaint. At the scene, officers heard gunshots around the 1,500 block of Fulton Road. Officers found 3 victims, a 17-year-old and 20-year-old who were from Cleveland, and a 20-year-old from Euclid.
Noelle Haynes and Brittany Wier withWOIO reported that all three victims were treated with non-life-threatening injuries. Police later learned that a woman from Warrensville rented the home for her 18-year-old daughter via Airbnb. People who were not invited to the home showed up and there was an argument. The people then left but returned and shot the three people at the Airbnb (Dec 2, WHIO).
After the shooting police say they saw a blue sedan fleeing from the scene. Melvin Williams, who is a neighbor of the Airbnb said that he was woken up to the sound of gunfire. Williams mentioned that there has never been a problem at the home before but is not pleased with strangers staying next door. In an interview with WOIO Williams said “I just think that you have to have more precautions as far as if it is going to stay and AirBnB. Just more precautions of who you are going to have over there,”(Dec 1, Haynes and Weir).
After the shooting Airbnb said that they removed the account of the booker and are going to help authorities in the on going investigation. (Dec 1, Haynes and Weir)
