Micah Dubitzky, also known as Slidatra, is a singer best known for his viral alter alias, who sings Frank Sinatra’s “My Way” with an interesting twist. Online, he holds himself to a high standard, showing users and musicians alike how to do different things with their voices and become the best version of themselves. Offline, he isn’t much different; he is aware of his work and is proud of it. Micah started out like most other musicians with a dream. He posted covers and original music anywhere he could to reach like-minded music listeners and to express himself through music. According to Micahdubitzky.com, “Micah started out like most singers today, recording his covers and original music in an effort to express the emotions and feelings of a relatively quiet kid. After a storm rushed through his life he was left with only one choice, to remain with what he knew best at the young age of 18.” (Dubitzky, Oct 17th, 2024)
At a first glance, Micah may seem to be very different compared to other musicians. he is very open about his desire to help other artists, even going as far as to post a large number of tutorial videos on the many different vocal techniques and breath control techniques so that others may learn the same way he did without having to pour thousands of dollars into the same schooling. He has begun to post more of his educational and life story videos, with very good response from his fans. Though, recording tutorial videos is not the only way he helps out the community. He has also send out PDF documents of vocal preparation notes to anyone who asks for it. According to Micahdubitzky.com, “For nearly a decade I have been traveling around the world, catching the secrets of voice from the walk that the greats have taken in the pursuit of vocal excellence. Today, I am choosing to share tens of thousands of dollars in research and years of experience in the field with all of you to also reach higher planes of knowledge and skill.” (Dubitzky, Oct 17th, 2024)
Micah has recently been doing more livestreams in attempts to learn more of what his audience wants and prefers to see, going as far as to add several fans to his stream. He asked them a number of different things, including what their favorite part of the account is, what content they want to see more of, if they have any advice, and even doing his trademark slide with them. He has also made a group where he goes much more in depth on different vocal tips, techniques, and practices that he refers to as the M.A.D castle. Anyone interested can pay the fee to join and can contact Micah directly with any questions.
