Officer Erik Langenkamp is a patrol officer for Union and School Resource officer for Kleptz Early Learning Center. He used to work in AC and Heat.
Langenkamp said that he had always wanted to be a cop but his circumstances weren’t right. Once he was able to, he attended Greene County Police Academy where he trained vigorously and learned how to handle difficult situations for 8 months, then took a written exam. Langenkamp is married with two kids and likes spending time with his family. He also enjoys playing games like Fortnite with his first son. As well as helping his second son with swimming. When asked about how he handles areas that are not as trustworthy of cops he said “I try and be as transparent as possible” and that he tries to keep a smile on his face.

Langenkamp said that when he used to work as a full time patrol officer he didn’t get much time with his family. When his wife was getting home from work he was leaving for work. Now that he works as an SRO he says that he gets to spend more time with his family because he works school hours. Most days, Officer Langenkamp works with the principal and helps with cases that may need police intervention. At 8:00 am he goes to the police station to file reports and check on the fire station. He has to be at the school by 8:15, to unlock the doors. He spends most of his day at the school.
