On February 9th of 2025, Team Fluff defeated Team Ruff in a historic win for the 2025 Puppy Bowl title. With a final score of 68-66, team Fluff took it to the very last play to come on top on win.
According to Chris McCrory from News Center Maine, “A Labrador retriever mix named Paws Allen scored a touchdown in the final seconds of the game — taking matters into his own famous paws and securing the Lombarky Trophy for Team Fluff”(Feb. 9th, 2025).

There were a lot of very talent players on the field that day but there was one who outshined the rest of the pups. According to the same article by Chris McCrory, “This year’s Most Valuable Puppy Award went to Team Ruff’s Foxtrot, a border collie mix who scored the first two touchdowns and added another in the fourth quarter” (Feb. 9th, 2025). Foxtrot is a 16-week old pup and like most of the other pups, he is a shelter dog. He comes from Pet Haven, which according to Aki Nace from CBS News is a, “Minnesota rescue nonprofit, which said it was ‘BEYOND psyched’ about the award” (Feb. 10th, 2025).

You may be asking yourself ‘well how are all these dogs so well behaved?’ or ‘how are they not destroying the place?’. Well, according to the previously mentioned article by Chris McCrory, “Victoria Schade is a dog trainer and novelist who’s the show’s lead puppy trainer and wrangler. She’s the one making sure the shelter pups have a conflict-free contest and that they’re captured at their most adorable — all from off-camera” (Feb. 9th, 2025).
