One dead and others were injured after a private jet owned Mötley Crüe frontman Vince Neil crashed into another airplane at the Scottsdale Airpot on February 10th. The incident left Neil’s girlfriend, Rain Andreani, and her friends with injuries which are not thought to be life threatening. However, the 78-year-old pilot, Joie Vitosky was reported dead.
A representative for Neil’s plane said that it was attempting to land at the smaller airport in Arizona. The Hill states, “‘For reasons unknown at this time, the plane veered from the runway causing it to collide with another parked plane,’ Worrick Robinson, his representative, said in a statement” (Irwin, February 11th).

Vince Neil’s manager said that ‘Mr. Neil’s thoughts and prayers go out to everyone involved, and he is grateful for the critical aid of all responders assisting today’.
Neil was not aboard the plane, but there were two pilots along with passengers aboard when the crash occurred. Robinson said it was a ‘rapid evolving situation’ with no more specifics known at this time. Even though the cause of the crash is unknown, the representative said it seemed as the primary landing gear failed on Neil’s plane.
As a result of the incident, two were injured and taken to trauma centers, and one was stable at a local hospital. Officials were working together to recover the body of the one person who was killed.
A CNN article states, “The FAA briefly paused flights into the single-runway airport after the crash, but the runway reopened late Monday, the airport said”(Jackson, Paget, Sottile, and Musa, February 11th).
