The emails, stated in an NPR article, had arrived several hours after Elon, the person who’s leading the Department of Government Efficiency team, also responsible for the mass firings of at most 20,000 U.S government workers within the past month, gave notice about the apparent situation. ( Bowman, Feb, 22, 25 ).
The email’s subject title, which was seen by Business Insider and written into one of their articles, read, ” What did you do last week? ” ( Dorman , Feb, 22, 25 ).

“ Consistent with President @realDonaldTrump’s instructions, all federal employees will shortly receive an email requesting to understand what they got done last week. Failure to respond will be taken as a resignation, ” Musk wrote in the tweet.
In a letter addressed to the Office of Personnel Management and in a NBC NEWS article, Rep. Gerald Connolly, D-Va., who serves as the ranking member on the House Oversight Committee, deemed Musk’s threat as “ illegal, reckless, and yet another instance of the arbitrary chaos Mr. Musk is imposing on the government and its devoted public servants. ” ( , Feb, 22, 25 ).
