On Thursday, February 20th, Vandalia Youth Theatre announced their senior show, Hadestown! Earlier in the month, they revealed their junior and primary shows, The Jungle Book and Beetlejuice Jr.!
Vandalia Youth Theatre, a theatrical company located on West National Road, will be performing three musicals. The shows will take place during the summer and have different rehearsal dates. In interviews, some past VYT actors, Lola Shetler and Brock Bornhorst had this to say about the season and organization:

2. How long have you been doing VYT shows?
- 8 years. (Lola)

3. What is your biggest role with VYT?
- Probably the March Hare in Alice in Wonderland. (Lola)
- Gargoyle. (Brock)
4. What is your favorite thing about the organization?
- The community. (Lola)
- I like Cole and Kyle and Linus and really all the friends I made there. I didn’t like the gargoyle suit. (Brock)
5. How do you feel about this season of shows?
- I like them. They are good selections! (Lola)
- I like Hadestown and Beetlejuice. (Brock)
The show dates for The Jungle Book and Beetlejuice Jr. are July 10-13th and will run concurrently while Hadestown will be open from July 18-20th. There will be a parent meeting on March 9th that includes attendance requirements and audition tips/information. According to the Vandalia Youth Theater website, “We build a safe and welcoming community where youth can find empathy, a sense of belonging and gain confidence in who they are.” (Vandalia Youth Theatre, 2021). All performances will be at Northmont High School Community Auditorium.
