On Wednesday, April 2nd, a 17-year-old high school is student is charged with murder due to a stabbing that took place at Frisco Independent School District stadium in Frisco, Texas, during a track meet.
Due to the stabbing 11th grader, Austin Metcalf, a student at Frisco Memorial High School, died shortly after due to his injuries.g
The 17-year-old was later identified as Karmelo Anthony, a student who attended Frisco Centennial High School.

Anthony is now being held at Collin County Jail on a $1 million bond.

Stated from officers, Anthony allegedly confessed to the killing. In the arrest report he told them he was protecting himself.
Responding officers spoke to multiple witnesses, in one report it was stated that the altercation began when Metcalf told Anthony to move from under their team’s tent.
In the ABC. News article it further more states what happened before the stabbing. “The witness reported that Anthony allegedly reached inside his bag and said, “Touch me and see what happens”. Metcalf grabbed Anthony to move him, Anthony allegedly pulled out what witness described as a black knife and stabbed Austin once in the chest and then ran away,” the arrest report stated” (Deliso, Fri. 11).

After the incident took place Frisco Police Chief David Shilson explained the incident was a “senseless act of violence” and he offered his “deepest condolences to all the families involved especially the Metcalf family”.
Shilson further warns false information related to the stabbing going around social media and “to only trust information coming from officials and verified sources”.
