On Sunday, May 4th, a fatal shooting at a restaurant and event venue in Glendale, Arizona took place. After the incident it was reported that the individuals who were harmed in this incident were known to one another.
In the incident three people were killed and five were injured.
Jose Miguel Santiago, a communication manager for the city of Glendale, states in a CNN article, “a fight broke out during an event described as a “concert/car show” at El Camaron Gigante, a steak and seafood restaurant. Once they existed the venue the fight escalated in the parking lot and that’s when these individuals began shooting at one another” (Mascarenhas, Babineau, May. 14).

The three individuals who were killed were a 17-year-old boy and along with two 21-year-olds. The 17-year-old and one of the 21-year-old were later reported as siblings.
The five people who were injured ages ranged between 16-years-old and 23-years-old.
Police stated, the injures they suffered were from gunshots or shrapnel.
The names of the victims have not yet been released to the public.
The investigation on the shooting is now focused on how the suspects obtained the guns that were used. There were between 200 to 300 people attending the event that Sunday night.

Moroni Mendez in the same CNN article states, “Officers who responded to reports of a shooting around 7:45 p.m. found an “enormous scene” (Mascarenhas, Babineau, May. 14). Mendez also reports that several people were detained for questioning , but no suspects were take into custody.
This shooting was amongst the other 97 mass shootings so far in this year.
