
Former President Joe Biden has been diagnosed with prostate cancer, his office said Sunday.
The finding came after the former President reported urinary symptoms, which ultimately led doctors to discovering a nodule on his prostate.
According to an AP NEWS article, he was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday, with the cancer cells having spread to the bone.
The article also mentions how the type of prostate cancer Joe Biden has developed is ‘ aggressive ‘, being a 9 on the Gleason score. This level of prostate cancer is placed in the Grade Group 5, the highest-risk category currently established.
“ While this represents a more aggressive form of the disease, the cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management, ” his office stated. “ The President and his family are reviewing treatment options with his physicians. ” ( Boak, Apr, 30, 25 ).
The announcement has sparked a wave of public concern and support, with leaders across the political spectrum extending well wishes to the former president. Along with this, former VP, Kamala Harris and her husband, also wrote a post on X in regards to Biden being diagnosed with cancer. As written in her response, ” Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership, ” Harris wrote. ” We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery. ” ( @KamalaHarris, May, 19, 25 ).
