On September 17th, 2025 there was a teen boy, Ty Anthony Sage, was “accidentally” released after an accusation of murder. There was a direct violation of the judge where Sage’s bail was set for $5,000 and he was accepted to bail out. When Sage was taken into custody it was not just him. There were 10 teens arrested at a beach downtown. This sixteen year old was a huge suspect for a murder in 2021, involving a 15 year old boy.
Against the judges wishes Sage was bailed out for $5,000 dollars. Now there is a manhunt to find out where he is, but they cannot put him back on trial because of the rights of the constitution. An Army Veteran was arrested after a week-long manhunt leading to a deadly Montana Bar Massacre that killed 4 people. Sage’s release appears to be an “isolated incident.” This is what a sheriff told FOX 12. “According to Sheriff Nicole Morissey O’Donnell says “This mistake should not have happened”(Sept,17 Sheriff Nicole). Sage and a 26-year-old Rivas-Ramirez were both arrested in May, and faced murder and robbery charges.
This mistake has caused a lot of uproar in the city of Portland. The victim’s family demands justice and punishment.Ramsey, the victim’s mom said that she does not think her son will ever get justice for what happened to him and that she does not trust the government to take care of this tragedy. Giving the suspect is still out doing god knows what, it is unclear what will happen next, but they definitely have a long way to go with the trust of their community and rebuilding confidence in their government.
