On September 22 2025, Typhoon Ragasa, a super typhoon, ferociously hit the Philippines. Which led to thousands having to evacuate because of the destructive and high risk conditions. A super typhoon is the equivalent to a category 5 hurricane. Typhoon Ragasa,”one of the strongest storms to hit Asia in years”(Kanis Leung, Sept. 24 2025).
There are reports stating “that the typhoon’s winds exceeded 150 mph, accompanied by torrential rain”(Sourceabilty Team Sept. 25. 2025). Winds that are very powerful like Ragasas are bound to cause destruction no matter where it takes place. Typhoon Ragasa also affected other places that included Taiwan and Hong Kong. There were many people who lost their lives.
It was stated “the strongest storm so far this year, killed 14 people in Taiwan and 11 in the Philippines, according to officials. More than 100 people were injured in Hong Kong”(Reuters Sept. 25) Unfortunately, the Typhoon will only keep moving farther and getting stronger.

So it will be difficult for everyone that was negatively impacted to recover or get back what they lost in the storm. Especially since not everyone has the financial freedom to buy materials and basic necessities. Situations like Typhoon Ragasa can setback people years after it happens. Especially if it’s a powerful storm.
Hopefully the storms come to a stop, and buildings get rebuilt. And people get the help they need to get them back on their feet. But as of right now only time will tell.
