On Saturday, April 1, the track team competed in the Jack Lintz Invitational. The meet, which is held at Norhmont, is named after the current coach and retired teacher, Jack Lintz. Both the girls and boys scored first place.

“I’m so proud of our team,” said freshman Madison Blessing, a member of the girl’s 4×400 team who won first place overall.

One event that brings many teams to the Jack Lintz Invitational is the 5k because the event frequently isn’t offered at other meets. The 5k is 12.5 laps around the track.

“The 5k was fun, but difficult. I’m happy with my time,” said junior John Pierron.

According to junior Jordan Rife, there was fierce competition at the meet that pushed the team.

“I don’t think this has ever happened before,” said senior Melissa Barrett, the new invitational record holder in the 800 meter race. “I’m very proud of myself and the team.”

The Jack Lintz Invitational has been held at Northmont for 6 years.
