On Saturday, the marching band performed in competition at the Mason Band Invitational at Mason High School. The marching band won best music and best general effect in their class (AAAA) as well as earning first in Class AAAA.

“I think the competition went good because we all came together as a team and realized we are all equal,” said junior Matt Wilcox.

The marching band took third place overall out of 39 bands from Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.

“The most memorable part of the competition for me was sitting in the stands knowing that we didn’t have the best run and still hearing our score and realizing we got third overall,” said senior Shelby Mills. “It made me think what would have happened if we did a better run.”

The band’s next performance is this Friday at the football game versus Kettering-Fairmont High School and their next competition is next Saturday, November 1st at Centerville High School.
