Former governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo has officially been charged for the sexual harassment and sexual assault of his former aide in Albany’s Executive Mansion. This crime could send him jail for a year or more if he is convicted.

This incident allegedly took place in the afternoon of December 7th on the second floor of the Mansion, which is the governor’s official residence.

On the complaint, the victim’s name was formally hidden from the public, however a lawyer who is representing Brittany Commisso, came out and said that the victim is her.

Brittany had broken her silence to the public with the words, “The governor needs to be held accountable. What he did to me was a crime. He broke the law.”, according to the New York Post.

A text from Cuomo’s phone is a major evidence point. What is said in this text has not been released. However, a press conference for December 7th, and blackberry pin messages are also evidence that is being held against Andrew.

Cuomo will be facing the eAlbany City Court on November 17th, according to the Albany County Sheriff’s Office. He is expected to surrender himself in order to be arrested and booked.

While this is one of the most public cases being brought against Andrew Cuomo, 11 accusations have been made against him for sexual assault or sexual harassment.

Kathy Hochul of the Democratic Party remains in office as the governor of New York. More information about Cuomo’s trial will be released throughout the few months.
