One person is dead and 2 more were hospitalized after a crash in Butler township on October 21, 2022. The crash happened shortly after noon at the intersection of Little York and Peters Pike. An initial investigation showed that a vehicle heading north on Peters Pike did not stop at a red light and ran into another vehicle turning southbound from Peters Pike to Little York Road. A video of the crash showed a red sedan with heavy damage to the front and a gray sedan was on top of it. According to WHIO, both drivers were trapped and had to be cut out from their vehicles.

One driver was transported to Miami Valley Hospital. The driver was last reported to be in “stable condition with multiple injuries”. The second driver was pronounced dead on the scene. Emergency responders also required aid from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office’s Accident Reconstruction Unit due to the extent of damage to both vehicles. Police have not released the names of the drivers involved at this point in time, according to Dayton 24/7. The crash shut down the intersection for around 4 hours. It was originally reported around 4 p.m and the crash remains under investigation.
