Biden’s Chief of Staff Ron Klain, according to CNN as of January 21, 2023, will be stepping down from his position in these upcoming weeks.

Ron Klain hasn’t set a specific date to his setting down from Chief of Staff but according to Phil Mattingly, Jeff Zeleny, Arlette Saenz, Betsy Klein, Kaitlan Collins, Kevin Liptak and MJ Lee, “ is expected to step down in the weeks after the president’s State of the Union address, according to multiple people familiar with his plans.” as stated by CNN on January 21, 2023. According to CNN, the president’s State of the Union address is set to be happening February 7, 2023, meaning sometime after that is when we can expect Ron Klain to be leaving his position as Biden’s Chief of Staff.

What will happen when Ron Klain leaves? Well, according to Ashley Capoot from CNBC, “A search for Klain’s replacement is reportedly underway, but it is not clear if a successor has already been chosen or when the decision will be announced.”(January 21, 2023). Currently, it is now known who will be replacing Klain and we don’t know exactly when they will be taking over.

Ron Klain isn’t the first Chief of Staff to ever step down. In fact, according to Ashley Capoot, “and Klain is proud he has lasted longer than any other Democratic president’s first chief of staff in more than 50 years, according to the Times report.” (CNBC Jan. 21, 2023).

Ron Klain stepping down is happening very soon, and yet still nothing about who will be taking over for him.
