On January 18th, the Northmont Drama Club will open their performances 12 Angry Jurors and CUT! Each cast has 15 people and both of the shows will run for about an hour and a half in total. The admission fees to the shows are $5 for students and $10 for adults. Buying the admission gets you into both shows, which are separated by a 15 minute intermission after the first show. The three show nights are January 18th, 19th, and 20th.
According to the Northmont Drama Club, the summary of 12 Angry Jurors is “A 19-year-old man has just stood trial for the fatal stabbing of his father. The jury’s deliberation grows personal, with each juror revealing his or her own character as the various testimonies are re-examined, the murder is re-enacted and a new murder threat is born before their eyes! Tempers get short, arguments grow heated, and the jurors become 12 angry men.”
CUT! is a show summarized by the Northmont Drama Club as “A group of actors rehearses a play within a play within a play. As the plot complications multiply, the actors begin to forget who is playing whom and who is the real director — as opposed to the actor who is playing the director, or vice versa. Then they can’t seem to remember who they really are, as opposed to the people they are playing in any of the various scripts. Then things start to get confusing…”
Both shows have a cast that is very eager to perform their roles and bring together something that audiences are bound to enjoy. There will be a raffle each night to raise funds for the organization!
