Furious 7 had the ninth highest U.S. opening weekend of all time with 143.6 million, making it the highest in franchise history and the highest in universal pictures. It also made 391 million worldwide on opening weekend, making this the third highest-grossing opening film of all time, behind Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part Two and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Strange Tides.

Vin Diesel (who plays Dominick Toretto)  has already hinted at an eighth movie with a story centered around new addition to the cast Kurt Russell (who plays Mr. Nobody). Diesel stated on Jimmy Kimmel that the eighth movie would take place in New York.

Furious 7 was supposed to come out in 2014. However, due to the death of Paul Walker, the movie was put on hold as they tried to figure out what to do with his unfinished scenes. It was estimated 80% of his scenes were filmed before his death. His two brothers stood in and finished his scenes for him while they digitally placed Paul’s face on their bodies.

Furious 7 is a fantastic action movie, however several things will go over your head if you are not familiar with the series. So, familiarize yourself with the series, so you can fully appreciate Furious 7.
