Dolphin Hat Games, a game maker out of Englewood, Ohio, has been featured on many gift idea lists for the 2022 Christmas season with the game Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.

According to Dayton Daily News, the game has been featured on multiple websites like USA Today, BuzzFeed, and more.

Dave Campbell, the owner of Dolphin Hat Games, said to Dayton Daily News on November 28, “This game has always had a lot of magic to it, a lot of viral growth. It’s been a fun ride with this game.” Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza launched in 2017 and is based on a game Campbell played as a kid called Egyptian Ratscrew

The game is played by making matches between a card and a spoken word as players race to slap their hand on the piles of cards. The last person to lay his or her hand has to take the pile. Certain cards make players have to do actions before slapping the pile. The objective of the game is to get rid of all your cards.

When Campbell was asked how his company makes games, he said, “There’s a lot of things you have to think about when you’re creating a game, but the base point I usually start with when it comes to design is what resonates from the past that we can bring forward,”.

On Amazon, the game has an 88% rating of five stars. Jenna Schroeder, the company’s communications director said the game was, “Easy to learn and fun to play are the most important things to bring in a game for us,”.
