On Tuesday the 28th U.S. Border Chief, Gregory Bovino, was ordered by U.S. district Judge Ellis, to do multiple things including making an appearance in Court every weekday at 6 pm, turning in all agents’ use of force reports from September 2nd through October 25, turning in all body-cam footage that go with the reports by the 31st, as well as a few other things.
This has happened due to the rising tensions between Immigration and Customs Enforcment (I.C.E.) particularly when Chief Bovino and other agents were shown in videos and photos throwing tear gas in multiple residential neighborhoods; which attorneys argued was in violation of Judge Ellis’ temporary restraining order on the chemical agent.

When Chief Bovino was asked by Judge Ellis if he had worn a body-cam on the day of the event he answered “I do not, ma’am, no,”(Bovino,Oct 28).Nor did he have the training required for it. Out of Bovino’s 201 agents in Chicago he said that he wasn’t sure how many of them had body cameras on but was sure that 99% of them had one on and said that he would get himself one as well as the training for it by Halloween.
The judge, with this incident as well as what she decided was an excessive use of tear gas and often got deployed without warning said that it was “difficult for me to see the force being used is necessary”(Ellis, Oct 28).
