On February 1st 2026 Nancy Guthrie was shockingly abducted from her Arizona home. Her family was shocked when the news broke out. Especially her daughter Savannah Guthrie, who is a well known co-anchor for NBC news today show. Many people from around the world are concerned for the Gunthrie family and sending out prayers. The Security from Nancy’s home “captured an unidentified person in a mask and gloves and carrying a backpack and a gun approaching Guthrie’s home just before she disappeared”(Melendez Feb. 11 2026). It’s questionable why a person would break in and take an 84 year old lady who isn’t involved in anything.

Nancy Guthrie’s “family is offering a $1m reward to find Nancy”(Drenon March 3. 2026). Hopefully the reward can make the perpetrator have a change of heart and return her back to her family. More recently Savannah Guthrie has “thanked her colleagues for their support, shared hugs with her coanchors and expressed her interest in returning to the show when the time was right”(Romano March 5. 2026). Many people wouldn’t return to work for months on months if the current situation occurred to them. But through support from the people around her, Savannah has made the decision to return which takes a lot to do.

Overall Nancy Guthrie still has not been found even with many people searching for her. Even though her chances of being found are getting slimmer by the day her family and friends must continue to keep hope that she will be found and hopefully be found alive.
