Hundreds of runners are set to run the 59th annual Xenia Marathon, Half Marathon, and 10 kilometer being held on March 29th at the Xenia YMCA.
The race is put on by the Ohio River Road Runners Club, which organizes and puts on races of various distances.
“The race course runs through Xenia, through parts of downtown, it goes past Shawnee Park, which is kind of a big landmark there in Xenia, and past the courthouse,” said Rebekah Taylor, one of the former race directors for the marathon, who is still close to the race commitee. “Runners then go onto the bike path and past Xenia Station, and the 10k runners will continue on to the Xenia YMCA, where the race starts and finishes. And then the marathoners continue on down into Spring Valley. The half marathoners also continue onto the Xenia YMCA.” The race course has remained the same from last year. You can find the full course map here.
Following the race, breakfast – free to all runners and volunteers – will be served at the Xenia Senior Center, next door the Xenia YMCA.

According to the race’s volunteer page, close to 200 volunteers are needed to run positions such as parking, packet pickup, course marshal positions, aid stations, food, and more.
If you are interested in registering or volunteering for the race you can find more on the Xenia Marathon website. The current cost to register for the full marathon is $90, the half marathon is $80, and the 10k is $65.
