COLLEGE STATION, Texas — In a game that defied all odds, the No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies orchestrated the largest comeback in program history on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2025, overcoming a 27-point halftime deficit to defeat South Carolina 31-30 and remain undefeated.
The first half was a comedy of errors for the Aggies, who trailed the Gamecocks 30-3 at the break after three turnovers and two missed field goals. South Carolina capitalized on the mistakes, pushing their lead to 27-3 with an 80-yard touchdown catch and run from Nick Harbor late in the second quarter.
But the second half was a completely different story. The Aggies scored on four straight possessions, including three touchdown passes in the third quarter from quarterback Marcel Reed, who finished with a career-high 439 yards passing. Texas A&M’s defense was equally dominant, shutting out South Carolina in the final two quarters and holding them to just 76 yards of total offense in the second half. A four-yard touchdown run by E.J. Smith in the fourth quarter sealed the incredible one-point victory.

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko was full of praise for his team’s resilience: “I’m not lost for words very much, but I was lost for words with the team in the locker room after the game… There’s not a lot of teams that have a culture and a core that will just keep going”. (USA Today Nov 16th 2025)
South Carolina coach Shane Beamer lamented his team’s second-half collapse: “To say that I’m hurt for our guys is an understatement… I’m just feeling disappointed with the way that we performed”.(USA Today Nov 16th 2025)
The win improves Texas A&M’s record to 10-0 and keeps their College Football Playoff hopes very much alive.
