On Monday November 31st American officials held peace talks with the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in Florida.

President Zelenskyy also spoke with the French President Emmanual Macron which lasted for multiple hours and at the end when President Zelenskyy addressed the public he said that “the plan looks better”(Zelenskyy,Dec 1). Meanwhile the Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that U.S. special envoy, Steve Witkoff, and President Vladimir Putin would be meeting on Tuesday December second.
On the second, hours before Witkoff and Putin met in the Kremlin, the U.S. and Ukraine agreed upon a new 20 point peace plan. Witkoff and President Trumps son in law, Jared Kushner, met on Monday around 2pm before the talks had started. Prior to the talks President Putin held lunch at a Michelin star restaurant with a representative of the Kremlin, Kirill Dmitriev and Vladimir Putin.
A Russian official anonymously said that “There are three pillars on which we will not compromise” the official says that “One is the territory of the Donbas. The second is a limit on Ukraine’s armed forces. The third is the recognition of territory by America and Europe”(Simmons,Lebedeva,Talmazan,Dec 2).
