On March 8th, at approximately 9:15 PM, Ortiz allegedly shot multiple rounds of a semi-automatic rifle at the Beverly Crest property. Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the alleged shooter at Rihanna and her family’s house pleads not guilty in regards to the charges for attempted murder and other related charges.

Nobody was harmed but along with Rihanna being at home, A$AP Rocky, their 3 children, Rihanna’s mother, a few staff members, were also in the property during the shooting.

Ortiz’s charges include the main 14 counts of attempted murder, use of a firearm, assault with a semi-automatic firearm and shooting at an inhabited dwelling, and could face a life sentence for this.

According to an ABC article “Bail is currently set at $1,875,000. That figure was initially set at $10 million, because there were 10 victims present during the shooting, but it was later reduced.” (March 25, 2026, Caputo, Velez). And that isn’t all, Ortiz’s public defender apparently asked to lower the bail even more but the judge denied when a prosecutor said that she was a risk to others and would likely flee.

In a Miami Times article, Deputy District Attorney Alexander Bott said “When Ortiz was arrested hours after the shooting, she was alone in her car with the rifle, more rounds and a wig she was using as a disguise” (March 31, 2026, Dalton). There were also multiple disturbing social media posts online from Ortiz that could imply she was behind the shooting. Despite all of the evidence against her, Ortiz pleads that she is not guilty, but we have heard little from her yet and she is next to be heard from on April 8th 2026.
