As of Monday, the first Buc-ee’s location in Ohio is officially opened in Huber Heights, gaining a grand total of around $ 1,000,000 in sales on opening day.
Founded in 1982, Buc-ee’s is a chain of country stores and gas stations known for its world’s cleanest bathroom title, fresh produce, along with its beaver mascots.
The grand opening was highly anticipated, with its initial opening date previously being scheduled for December 2025, but unexpected weather pushed back the project back to around six months.
Huber Heights Mayor Jeff Gore, as cited in a WLWT article, mentions how ” the grand opening day numbers were better than any store they’ve ever opened on day one ” (Sanderson , April, 14, 26 ).
It had also been shared by Gore how nearby hotels were sold out that weekend in anticipation for the store’s opening day.
As cited from a post Gore made on Facebook, “All the hotels from Huber to Miller Ln. were sold out over opening day weekend. There’s no true way to understand the overall economic impact this early, but there’s no doubt it’s going to be huge!! “(Dulion , April, 17, 26 ).
Similar to the other Buc-ee’s travel centers, the Ohio location features over more than 100 fuel pumps, along with having a warehouse-sized store with snacks, merchandise, and their spotless bathrooms — as mentioned from before.
The Huber Heights location in Ohio is just one of eight new locations planned to open in the next year, adding on to the company’s 55 already-established Buc-ee’s hubs throughout the U.S.
