On December 3, 2019, North Korea warns the US to prepare for a “Christmas gift,” North Korea said that the US will be the ones to choose the Christmas gift if Donald Trump fails to meet looming Nuclear deadline. North Korea is frustrated by the lack of sanctions relief after three summits with President Donald Trump.

According to CNN, the present will depend on the outcome of ongoing talks between Washington and Pyongyang. The United States didn’t take the “Christmas gift” news well, and warned North Korea of consequences.

“The ominous comments, which some have interpreted as a sign that North Korea could resume long-distance missile tests, comes as the clock ticks closer to the country’s self imposed end-of-year deadline for nuclear negotiations with the Trump administration,” said  (CNN News) .

“It’s hard to predict because it could go either way,” said Duyeon Kim, senior advisor on Northeast Asia and nuclear policy to the international Crisis group. “It really depends on the circumstances and the situation, which will better inform how North Korea reacts,” according to (CNN).

If this conflict isn’t solved by Christmas North Korea promises to take action against the U.S. No one knows what gift North Korea plans on giving the United States, but based on previous conflict between  Donald Trump and Kim Jong-Un the present doesn’t sound like it’ll be very pleasing.
