Nancy Guthrie has been missing since the morning of February first with authorities stating that she was forcefully taken from her home after spotting who they believe is the suspect. As of currently Police are telling the public “There’s no evidence that Guthrie was taken over the U.S.-Mexico border”(Blankstein,Winter,Feb 18).

President Trump told the New York Post on the sixteenth that the assailants must release Guthrie unharmed or else they will be severely punished. Saying in a phone interview that he is seeking the death penalty if Nancy is killed. Authorities have said that DNA from Guthrie’s home has been taken to a lab to be analyzed. CeCe Moore, the Chief Genetic Genealogist at a Virginia laboratory that specializes in forensics, says in an interview with NBC that she is “extremely hopeful”(Moore,Feb,18).

The FBI has said that the suspect is around 5’9″ or 5’10” and had on a black Ozark Trail backpack from Walmart but that is all that is known about the suspect.

The current reward for any tips that may lead to Guthrie or the suspect is $102,500 from 88-CRIME, a radio station in Arizona, and $100,000 from the FBI
